About Hancock's of Paducah!!!

While looking for chemo cap patterns, I clicked on a link to Hancock's of Paducah. At the bottom of the page was a link titled "Chapter 11'. So I clicked on it.... this is the first paragraph-

Hancock Fabrics, Inc. filed for protection and relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, DE on March 21, 2007.

I'm bamfoozled!!! I thought we all spent enough money there to keep him solvent til Doomsday!

It is not Hancock's of Paducah that has filed for Chapter 11. It is the Hancock Fabrics. They filed for bankruptcy a little over a year ago, and have closed a lot of their stores.

You are correct- I goofed. I was so overwhelmed and frustrated searching for chemo cap patterns and only finding knit and crocheted patterns that I didn't look closely enough. Sorry if I frightened anybody...

Chapter 11 is, I think, the one where they work out a payment plan for a period of several years. The stores have been doing poorly for a very long time, so their debt from overhead would be high. Thank goodness it's not Hancock's of Paducah! Now that would really be sad!

Leslie: Other readers have explained the HOP and HC difference. I am here to tell you that Nancy's Notions had a wonderful selection of head covers for chemo therapy patients. Go to NN, at bottom of home page look for Creative Kindness title; click on that title; CK section contains several fashionable styles of hats, instructions on adapting baseball hats, and some accessories too. There are projects for other requirements, such as walker totes, adaptive clothing and so on. I think Nancy does a valuable public service with this feature. NAYY.
