borders in EQ5

I've been struggling with the borders in EQ5. Is it possible to do things other than use the pre-set border choices in the borders? Like using blocks instead? Or drawing in your own lines?

Any help with be appreciated!

hi Michelle. I now have EQ6 but I looked up the EQ5 book and it says this: Add border on Borders Tab. Style: Tile Squares. Your choice of number. To avoid having a spacer border, be sure the # of blocks fits evenly into your quilt size. eg 50" x 50" will give you either 5 rect. or 10 sq. border blocks. You can either use Block Library - Classic Pieced and find 4 pages of border blocks. You are not limited to using these Borders blocks. Any block can be set into a border. So cruise through the Block Library and copy into Sketchbook. Use the set tool to place the chosen blocks into the border on Layer 1 tab.

If you want to draw your own lines, simply go into New Block, Easy Draw. Set the parameters for the size block you want, grid lines etc. Make sure 'snap to grid points' is divisible into block size. eg. 6 x 6 in block, 36 horizontal and vertical divisions. Once you have designed the block, you can color it by clicking Color tab. Click Save in Sketchbook. (remember you can draw a rectangular block if you want). use set tool as above.

Hope this helps. just holler for more. Cheers Bronnie Oz
