Oooh Piglet is just the best. Perfect wall hanging for the room. And the room is really sweet. I like your wall color. My LR walls are in shades ranging from deep green to gold to orange. All together. Oh yeah, and deep red. I'm a color person and you win my color seal of approval. :) And I had the same question about the black case....it looks to me like the old lunch box my Uncle carried to the brick plant where he worked every night.

Yeah, I don't have the original (1930) edition; the rest I've found, one by one, in antique malls at reasonable prices, except of course for the post-1968 editions and one 1940's edition that was mom's.....

I've also got, not quite so visible but in those shelves, a booklet type cookbook (similar to but thinner than the sort that they sell in the grocery store as "Summer Grilling Recipes" or "Party Favorites" or what have you) that is an official US Government publication with instructions and recipes for proper meatless and wheatless days, et cetera, for the Duration of the War (WW I, not II)......
