slow and steady wins the race -- not OT

[this was cross posted on the Facebook page] Way back at the dawn of time (2004, actually) a large group of RCTQrs had a mini round robin swap. There were 5 quilters in each group and there were 4 USA only groups, one USA/Canada group and one International only group -- for easy of mailing, not discrimination :-)

Yesterday I finished mine and hung it on the wall! We each started with a 6" block to pass around and each person added borders until it came home. I have posted a photo of mine in my Flickr quilts album. What came home to me included the rust border. I set it on point and added the applique leaves and green border because I wanted a bigger finished WUH.

The other women in my group (USA 2) were "Elena in TX", Shanna, "Ethne in PA" and "LC in Sunny So Cal". Thank you, ladies, for my lovely quilt!

Beautiful! Mine is on my "to-do" list, and I hope to get it finished this year. That was a fun swap!

Oh please do Louise. I have a photo in my collection of yours with all the lovely purple applique flowers around it. Can't wait to see how you finish it off.

In my defense, one reason it took 8 years to finish is that I hand quilted it. I started out using a floor hoop and couldn't travel with it. Once I figured out I could quilt without the hoop, I started taking it on our trips to Palm Springs and worked on it evenings and finished it in no time at all, at all :-D

It feels good to move something out of the UFO pile though, doesn't it?

Your wall hanging is just gorgeous! Everyone did such a lovely job and your appliqued points are the perfect finishing touch!
