Can't see Jeanne

I have a bad feeling that I've accidentally KF'd Jeanne. Eke! However, I don't know which one she is so I can remove her. Can someone repost one of her posts so I can see her newsgroup email addy and get her outta there?

Sorry Jeanne!

Best regards, Michelle

P.S. When I get this straightened out, I'd love to see Jeanne's suggestion about borders for SAS!

How do you read your email? In Outlook Express -- you can see your blocked senders list -- so you could find her and bring her back to life?

If you use another mail reader -- let us know -- there might be a way to find it there, too.

I didn't see a comment from Jeanne about the Storm quilt either. Checked my blocked sender's list [ Tools, Message Rules, Blocked Senders ] and she's not there. That happens on this computer all the time; yesterday Taria was not well received. Very often, it's Jack. It's kind of like the computer is in the 3rd grade and decides that it's not speaking to someone. Polly

sorry, reconsidered and not sure my idea about continuing some of the block elements into the borders either randomly or specifically is worth any thot at all. idea was off top of my head and lately theres little in my head. check out this if you havent already. might give you more ideas.

It sometimes is a lovely idea. though; and I thought it might work with all those triangles and diamonds, but they are all sort of inward-looking? . In message , J* writes

LOL! Okay, I've been seeing Jeanne's posts, just didn't know she had a new ID. The * should have tipped me off.

Duh!

Thanks Kate. Mystery is solved. I didn't realize she had a new ID. Kept looking for her old one.

Hi Jeanne!

No! I would never KF you--at least not on purpose. :-) (I've KF'd people I don't mean to by spazzing out and hitting the wrong the line. Ahem.)

Actually, I like your idea of continuing some block elements into the border. Borders are definitely my weak spot. I have a dream of doing an appliqued border sometime, but not for this quilt. I'm still leaning toward a very minor, nondescript border for this one, but I've got another quilt that I started over 10 years ago. I handpieced the blocks_just finished the last one--but when starting out gave NO thought to the border for it. This is a mock up (the actual quilt has 49 blocks--7X7):

As for the electricquilt site...Awesome! Now, I'm totally confused. ;-)

Hugs to you, Jeanne. I'm glad to see you posting.

Ok, I'm frequently confused, but this thread has me more confused than usual. I read the group on Google. Love it. It t ells me what threads have new comments and lets me see everything. So why do some of you read it in email? I'm in a couple groups that can really only be accessed through email posts and I have a hard time with it. I find it confusing and have a miserable time remembering what the original post was that somebody is replying to ...... sometimes weeks later. Is there an advantage to NOT reading on Google?

Fabulous! Wow! I had no idea SAS could have so many configurations. Kind of reminds me of Drunkard's Path--another of my favorites.

I've kept a copy of this. There are enough variations a quilter could spend a lifetime!

Hi Polly,

Turns out Jeanne has just changed her ID to J*. I was seeing her and didn't know it.

However, my computer likes to lose email and newsgroup in cyberspace--in addition to my accidental KFing. I have no idea what it does with it. Puts it in the virtual bin? Feeds it to one of your gators?

you're using mozilla, i dont know how that works. in windows with Outlook Express you can access the various ngs by setting up the connection thru the tools/accts window. some isps carry ngs, some dont. mine did, now doesnt but i still can access by using a different server, i use aioe.org. i have munted my email addy and reply addy for the ngs. i could use the signature lines to put my real return addy but isnt necessary really. i'm in the directory. others know my return addy if needed or replys here find me eventually. just easier for me to read here than have to log in thru google. also block sender gets rid of repeat spammers and idiots once blocked. j.

that wasnt what i meant. no worrys. i thot those links might give you more choices, inspiration or something. getcha think'n on different levels anyhow. i checked all your eq pix earlier. nice work there. the SAS partial block iirc is the tradional one, just the middle 'sq in sq' and two adjacent side diamond sashings. a triangle made from one diamond and two triangles(aka half that diamond) might work as a border, a bit like you put in those scrappy stars. j.

Hi Sunny,

A lot of email programs double as a newsgroup reader.

As for Google, I used to read there, and it worked fine for this newsgroup, as the spammers don't seem to be as prolific on RTCQ. However, another newsgroup that I read, ASD (alt.support.diabetes) seems to draw more than its fair share of kooks. I needed a way to kill file them and Google didn't offer anything adequate--at least not at the time.

What an amazing collection of variations - all done by colour placement. Fantastic. I think a 'proper' Storm at sea will have to be in my long-term calendar, just after Lone Star. Thanks so much for this site J. I shall print out the suggestions - it would make a fascinating sampler quilt don't you think? .
