Candy block is finished the easy way

I asked a few days ago for ideas for a candy themed block for a hug quilt. First, I made a block with three big lollipops that turned out looking more like three balloons. Then when I tried to write my name on the block the marker smeared.

So, I dug around in my stash and discovered a piece of jelly bean fabric. Made a 9 patch out of that - decided that looked fine and that's what I'm sending off in the morning.

So glad you mentioned the marker smearing, Donna. I just put tiny dots of white on the eyes of a teddy bear appliqué and was terribly tempted to sash him without a reasonable drying time. I think I would simply croak if the paint or a marker smeared. So glad you had a jelly bean waiting in the wings to save the day. Polly

That's a bummer about the marker smearing - but glad you found the jelly bean fabric. I like jelly beans better than lollipops anyway!

How maddening to get the block all done and then have the marker smear...BTDT....I bet the jelly bean 9 patch is darling and jelly beans are yummy too! Donna
