I suggest that you make a small sample of this work before you go out and buy all that muslin! You may enjoy the work and result, and can then go shopping, but if you find you really don't care for it, you will not have all that money tied up in something you don't want to mess with. My sample piece is sitting under a very large decorative crystal ashtray, and I'm planning to make a pillow or two in the pattern.
Appreciate the suggestions and patterns ladies! Last night I made two different samples. ( Yes, ambitious). I already have lots of muslin and a stash of scraps ( leftovers, of course). Does anyone have any hints on keeping the rolled edges uniform at the intersections? Btw, this was a first post for me. what a wonderful thing these discuss boards are! Smiles, Julie
Uniformity? Find a way for one that gives you the result you like; make that a rule
- and then stick to it! It might even involve something like 'stop sewing three threads before the end of the side'. Have a look at your samples and see which of the folding backs gives you most satisfaction, work out what you did and put it into a little formula for yourself! . In message , Julie Marie writes
