Christmas Quilts (Survey)

Just one! However, it hangs on the wall, since it's not quite bed sized.

Yup! I have a table runner and (not matching) placemats for the table, as well as a throw quilt from swap blocks done at our local group. I also have a *wonderful* little wall hanging of a tree made for me by a good friend. :)

Yes. Years ago I gave away throw cushions (they never saw the light of day again). I've also made quilted tree skirts for the DD's and their families.

Uh...this didn't all have to be made this year, did it? ;)

I bet she is busy in the Christmas cookies!

I have made a lot of little decorative holiday wall quilts over the years. Probably dozens. Most as gifts and more than a few around here. I figure folks who might not want a quilt up the rest of the year might enjoy a Christmas one. I hope they will become a part of a family treasury of decorations.

Okay.....

  1. I have a Christmas quilt - scrappy - on the living room sofa. It was a class I took a long time ago....only comes out at Christmas.

  1. I have a Christmas panel that I quilted and have hanging from a quilt hanger my best friend gave me for my 50th bday (her dh made it). I decided that I would actually "do" seasonal. Halloween was the first, Christmas the second. I have a "spring" panel waiting to do...... I also have several table runners that are in a Christmas fabric around the house. Quilt as you go patterns are great and fast!

  2. Yes! My goal every Christmas is to gift quilty things......I always have good intentions.......last year I gave quilts to my both of my DB & SIL's and to my niece, nephew and their families. This year I wanted to make tablerunners.......I am halfway done......they will be gifted next year.

I plan to start next years gifts in January. I promise to actually finish them before mailing time in December!

Great topic! Thanks Pat!

nope.

nope.

3 tree skirts a couple of wall hangings 2 bed quilts, a bigger than twin, smaller than double, blazing star, snowflake set, white and deep reds on a green background. An extra long double, wheel of fortune in red and gold on green. I remember I bordered that with metallic gold highlighted holly print flying geese on plain red, No idea where I came by the print, but do recall I used it all up in that quilt.

No.

Yes. One miniature quilt and one advent countdown WH. Also have a pattern for a nativity one that WILL be done for next year, and just found the perfect appplique for a tree skirt for then too.

Yes, stockings for my nieces and nephews, and two for us.

There are pics of the WH and some stockings at my website, under Quilting.

Next?

Our tree skirt is quilted - designed all by my little self...lol. Needless to say, we rotate because I found a lovely one the day after Christmas last year...as well as new stocking for all 4 of us.

I have given table runners and placemats, made wallhangings as gifts and...um....well, that pretty much covers it.

No quilty gifts going out this year thanks to piss-poor planning on my part. I had thought of some gifts to make, then got side tracked, and for some reason, yet unexplained to me, decided to stash the Christmas presents in the quilting closet!!!! Yes, I have 2 closets in my sewing room (used to be the master bedroom before the previous owners added the second story). One is misc. craft and school stuff, the other is predominantly quiting materials, with the odd roll of giftwrap stuck in there.

ARGH!

Christmas quilts? Yes. One queen size is hanging on the living room wall behind the baby grand piano so you can see most of it. The pattern is Double Irish Chain. The center chain is red and the two outer chains are green. The field and borders are the same Moda Christmas print from several years ago. It is red roses on a green background so doesn't scream Christmas. A twin size is hanging on the wall behind the sofa in the family room. It is a strippy quilt with a braid pattern pieced from all those Christmas novelty prints we buy and seldom use. The long braids alternate with a green holly and red ribbon print. It is a bright happy quilt.

Wallhangings? Yes. A navity print framed with several borders in the kitchen. A machine embroidered angel framed with several borders on the wall behing the nativity set (bought this one at a local quilt show in the guild boutique) Debbie Mumm memories pattern from years ago hanging in the hall. (nine different scenes. Lots of iron-on applique) NOEL done in stained glass method by the front door. Several star patterns in different locations around the house.

Other? Two tree skirts. One is a crazy quilt style under a small table top tree. Foundation pieced ornaments on the tree.

Started? Several other projects like all the blocks for a queen size sampler plus another set of blocks received >Well, that thread about "Getting to know

There is a REASON for this you know.........you just simply needed a BREAK from doing for others and just need to concentrate on your IMMEDIATE family for this Christmas....

Just like I have the SM set up in our bedroom-had the stash brought in--and the flooring guy said what ALL he needed removed from the k/d/laundry/baths/halls/our MBCloset.......and guess where it went.in front of the SMs! Stash is mostly UP on the pot shelves (patterns, lightweight bins only) and the rest will be heading out to the garage today as SIL will need a place to sleep and on my bins would NOT be conducive to it......

I *WILL* keep DD's quilt bin inside tho as I do want to get it back up so she can help with the organizing of it--it's HER quilt so she can do that part :) Thinking of getting a 'tablecloth' to use as a temp design wall as mine is still packed away....

Yes, yes, yes. Insist that he change it. Just guessing - they couldn't possibly get an accurate reading on some things - and they probably wouldn't feel like bothering with him anyway. DH and I are pure as the driven snow most of the year but get a little decadent at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just a little but it could be enough to make a test not accurate or totally unfair.
