  1. I have a LARGE Xmas wall hanging that I appliqued a few years ago. It's not hanging yet, because we're still refurnishing our living room & I don't want to put any holes in the walls until I know where everything is going to go. (I guess I could throw it over the sofa, but I'm going to wait till next year & hang it properly:)

  1. I made about 4 seminole table runners from Xmas fabrics last year & gave them as gifts. The year before I made a Xmas tree skirt that I gave as a gift.

I have so much Xmas fabric - I need to start making Xmas gifts for next year now. Didn't get any done this year. House & health got in the way.

Now that warms my little heart. I don't know (and don't need to know) if his blood work is for hydrophobia, pyromania or cholesterol but we do want his lab person and his blood to be better than the day after Christmas. Polly

I have a baked cheesecake happening in the oven at the moment with 4 mini ones using the leftover mix. Also have some choc swirled shortbread, a couple of cupcakes and a fridge full of fruit and yummies!

Nope. We were given an afghan, jacquard woven, that Cleo the kitty fell in love with. She has now kneeded upon it so much that it is very very picked and no longer for human usage. I'd toss it out but I figure it is saving some other item, possibly my stash, from the touch of her claws.

No again. I have a big stuffed fabric wreath that I hang in the livingroom and a lovely plaid tablecloth that looks grand with our pewter dishes in the kitchen.

No again. I would make something with a winter theme for someone, but not Christmas. Christmas decorations have a very limited time of use but a quilt with a winter theme can be used all winter long. Debra in VA See my quilts at

From PAT in VA/USA:

  1. Do you have any Christmas Quilts, lap size and larger, in your own home? Yes - one on the couch - the gals I worked with had a block exchange with the only restriction that we all had to use one particular fabric as part of our block.
  2. Do you have any Christmas WH and/or Table Runners? Yes and yes. We have a Christmas countdown calendar - a large WUH with a felt Christmas tree (and 24 velcro dots). Every morning one of the kids would put a (velcro-backed) ornament on the tree, putting the star at the top on the 24th. Also have several table/top-o-bookcase runners.
  3. Have you given away any Christmas quilted projects? Yes - each kid as they grew wanted their own Christmas WUH with a tree - plus each year I make them some sort of quilty/crafty ornament to hang on their tree. In the past, I've also made a few wall quilts, mostly from "cheater" panels

Interesting. Many of the quilts mentioned as being Christmas quilts sound more like quilts made with the usual Christmas colors rather than the type of quilt I was imagining. I thought it was about quilts that screamed Christmas with Nativity scenes, Santas, elves, reindeer, Christmas trees, wreaths, holly, and such. Those all say "Christmas decoration" to me, but red/green/white Irish chains, pinwheels, stack and whack, and snowmen just say winter quilt to me.

Interesting. for me it all depends on the quilt. Red and green colors for sure remind me of Xmas. For instance, I have one "Xmas" quilt. It's a feathered star and a I quilted a poinsettia design in it. It screams Xmas to me, but maybe you'd see it as a winter quilt.

I have a top that needs quilting. It is a "Stack and Slash/Pointless Wonder done with Christmas fabrics. Pretty wild. I also have a "Disappearing 9-Patch/Slice 'em and Dice 'em" done with holiday fabrics.

Have a New York Beauty runner made with the Claws and Paws (Kitties) fabric this year. That is finished. Also have 4 unfinished table toppers/wall hangings that I really do need to finish up. And the 3 block "Christmas Kimonos" I made a couple of years ago. Ended up making my own pattern for that one. (it is in the que to finish and get printed!) Almost forgot the Christmas tree wallhanging that is our tree. Have to get the decorations on it yet, and find a place to hang it.

Yes. Gave my sister a different New York Beauty runner last year. And another Christmas tree, the first one I made. (the one that woke me up telling me it wanted a border *all around* of green...... sigh) Finally sent off to my brother and his family another Tree, but made in blues, whites and silver..... his wife is Jewish, so some of the fabrics, including the border are Hanuka fabrics. Years ago I did a lot of the "panel" things for Christmas craft sales. Some of them were wreath cutouts, that you were supposed to sew together and stuff?... I 'quilted' them to felt instead, finished the edges (didn't cut out the center) and sold them as small table toppers. Also some stockings and so on that were quilted.

Have fun...

Pati, in Phx who also has a bunch of holiday aprons cut out and partially done..... should finish those up some time too.
