label for Redlake quilts for Dreamweaver

I have finally finished the quilts promised to Dreamweaver for her Redlake project. What type of label did others use? I have emailed Dreamweaver but have not received an answer. My goal is to have these in the mail this week. She said that she had space to store them until her health improves enough for the presentation. Has anyone heard from her in the last month?

Perhaps! I got a new computer, and am in the process of loading my embroidery software onto it. The machine I have is an older Bernina deco, but it does nice work. And my Phaff does nice block lettering. You can see a label I did that way at my webshots, on the back of the Via Dolorosa wall hanging.

absolutely. the block letters are easy-peasy. the embroidery takes some fiddling, but is feasible. I'm just not very good at it yet, although I've had the machine for several years, I've not done much with it because the old computer was just not fast enough to do the processing required.

TerriLee, I think the label looks wonderful, and I for one would vote for you being our queen of labels if you can get it all up and running! : )

LOL!! I promise, I will post when I get the embroidery sw figured out. In the meantime, if you need a label, let me know, and I can whip out a block letter one in about a half hour.

Why, thank you, your royal highness!!! I wasn't looking for a title, but if you think I deserve one, I'll not refuse. :-)

I just mailed mine off and Dreamweaver emailed me when she got it (I asked her too). I also know it arrived because I insured it and signature confirmation service'd it. This is the label that I put on the quilt I assembled for the ladies in the star swap.

Just LOVE that label. I will trade or pay for such labels if someone will make them (hint, hint)

When I was making raffle quilts in Sydney a local commercial embroidery place used to make my labels for a nominal fee. The normal cost was setup plus per letter so one-offs were WAY too expensive. But the owner of the business would do my charity quilts for a flat fee and in return I gave him plenty of notice when one was needed so they could do them between commercial runs. They were just gorgeous in those lovely rayon threads.

Embroidered labels is one of the capabilities that MIGHT tempt me to buy a new upmarket machine one day LOL. For now I will have to make do with my fabric printed ones.

But if anyone is going to start taking orders . . . . . . . . . . . .

Melissa - I too, love that label!! What machine/sw/etc are you using? If embroidery is OT, feel free to email me.

Well....... along with the title would come the job of mailing to the hostess for each Hug.

Hey, everybody! What do y'all think? Would this a good contribution to have provided for us?

Dreamweaver responded privately that I should do whatever I wanted for the label. Since time is my enemy right now I just grabbed a pigma pen and wrote directly on the back of the quilts. These beauties must get in the mail or I will forget why I made them and hang them in my own home. Actually I have enough blocks to make a wallhanging for myself.

When Dreamweaver first posted the request I immediately thought about the fabric I had used for Stack and Whack demonstrations. The focal fabric was an overall feather print from Hoffman in the earth tone colors Dreamweaver was suggesting. Since I had given the demonstration several times I had numerous blocks at various stages of completion. There were enough cut to make two twin bed sizes and a wallhanging.

Someday I am go>I have finally finished the quilts promised to Dreamweaver for her

IF and Only IF she puts "label by TerriLee' on each one she makes. I was pleased to see that on mine (It was added by pigma pen) as HoBo had done quite a bit of work to get it 'right'. Butterfly (we have ANOTHER QUEEN__PARTY PARTY PARTY____ I'll bring tater salad)

Mailing is the easy part! I'd just include it with the block I'd probably be sending anyway.

No, no, to soon to party. If I recall, everyone has to vote. But I'll take some of that tater salad, anyway!! MMMMM!
