COLOUR CHALLENGE!!!

With all the discussion about choosing colours for a quilt, I thought it was time to revisit a favourite colour challenge. Here are the rules for the NAME GAME CHALLENGE [unfortunately, the links to photos no longer work: I had to remove them to make server space.]

Anybody up for a challenge? I'll host the pictures: if you want to join in, just drop me a line with the three letters you will be using.

Here's the colour list our on-line group compiled....no doubt you can find more!

And here, for inspiration is one of the quilt tops I made for my 3 colours: Kohl Ivory and Gold [My initials are KIG]:

And if you're having problems thinking of a colour for a specific initial - this will help a lot

I lurk mostly, but this looks like fun, and I'd love to join in and play.. any size, any block, deadline?

GDB are my initials

Colours: Green Dark ecru Burgundy

Blocks - 9" : Dutch nine patch (from quilters-cache) which I'll adapt to use the three colours

oops -- I thought this was for "virtual" quilts -- I don't have time to add another project to my schedule right now.... so need to back out.

Read everything first.... duh!!!

sorry!

Hi Gerda, from just a bit further west than you! Nice to see you un-lurking for a spell. . In message , Gerda writes

Fun to see the list: on my monitor, anyway, their version of Taupe is nothing like what I see as taupe, and some of the others are iffy too! Between the wikipedia list and the list we had, you should all have lots to challenge your colour sensibility.

But, for what it's worth, I think using "Pale anything" for P or "Dark anything" for D is fudging....Pale and Dark are not colours!

Size: Unlike the SPAM I receive daily, size does not matter!....anything from postcard to bed quilt. If you want to do a virtual quilt in EQ, go for it! It would be fun to see those too.

LOLOL!!!

But I understood that.. and won't need to go stand on tiptoes either as all hills are 'up' from me here in the Thames Valley! LOL! Besides, at 6ft tall, I can see a looong way, especially if Patti is waving a FQ!!
