Directory form now open!

yes ma'm i surely will keep the group advised. right now the plan is still not fully set in concrete, not sure it will ever be. we're probly gonna play some of it by ear. i've had another invite to drive to upstate NY, where we could stay the night, then on to Keepsake up in NH?, could meet a few others along the way, then down to WV. tho we've not had time to discuss this latest development. from there i'm open to suggestions also ending up in Houston late Oct. havent yet figured out that part of the trip tho. i'm not all that good at making arrangements months in advance, how folks plan yrs in advance i'll never know. my hardest part may be making return reservations with this. i dont know when i'll be ready to go home, geez. i liked it better when they'd let ya buy the return ticket and book it when you were ready. hrmph. will advise more when i know more tho. cheers, jeanne

Howdy!

Making reservations for the last weekend of the Really Big Quilt Show in Houston is fairly easy; most out-of-towners come earlier in the week and leave Saturday p.m.. Last week, reservations were offered at the Hilton next to Brown Convention Center for Saturday onward. This still gives time to see the quilt show on Saturday & Sunday, show up for the RCTQ lunch meet-up on Saturday, maybe have a Sunday brunch date. Other hotels on the show route are also available, again, for the weekend at the end of the show, Nov 4-5. Beats the rush at the airport, too. ;-D

See you there!

Thanks so much! But I think I sent my form twice - sorry about that (at the bottom of the confirmation page it said that I was getting the directory in table format and I backed up to double check that that meant spreadsheet format. Then when I went forward I think it resent).

That's what I did too Alllison. It never did say I was getting spreadsheet form...but I hated to resend it the 4th time! There might be a glitch in there somewhere. I see we are not the only ones who have sent multiple messages. KJ

thanks for the heads up, Pat. yea i'd love book now but i'm not sure when i'll be down there. right now i dont even have 'getting to usa' flight worked out. last time i flew over i booked on wed and flew out that sunday. even picked my seat for the flight and when i checked in (after standing in line for an hour) they'd given my aisle seat away so i was stukc in the middle (5 seats) section and also had a puddle in carpet under my feet which all they could do was put a folded up blanket there for the whole flight. argh. something weird always happens when i fly. i'll probly not book that flight til a few days before i get there when i know where i'll be coming from. i might have to bus my way across the usa and then be begging to be allowed to carry my vase onboard the flight across the pacific. i cant check it in as luggage, its way too fragile, heck i have to go get it myself cuz no one will insure it to ship/mail/courier. :( no idea yet where i'll stay. i just dont know what i'm doing yet. cheers, jeanne

Just be sure to keep in touch the best you can. You know you have friends spread all over our country who would help transport you and your vase. We can be the Pony Express for Jeanne! KJ

kinda hard to know where i'm headed as i'm not driving. i'm at the mercy of others somewhat. and buses/trains dont stop at all the best LQS now do they, lol. i'm open to any/all suggestions tho. :) i gotta say i sure dont like doing stuff by myself. everything is more fun with someone else. i like the idea of Pony Express, lol. maybe i need to find a stagecoach, lol. yeaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! what a hoot you are, lol. jeanne

I'm just sorry you've been bombarded with multiple forms Alice. Kj

Multiple forms were not unexpected based on the last revision. I just figure folks love to see the confirmation page so much they just continue to fill in the form. Of course, in hindsight, this could have been a good thing. I could have made the first form free and charged FQs for subsequent forms. One FQ for the second form, two FQs for the third form, and so on. Hmmmmm, let's see the next revision is when??????

I have this cartoon in my head of Jeanne in a big (I mean people sized!) leather pouch with her head sticking out while we hand her over from car to car....much like handing off a baton in a track relay race. A car slows down...the pouch appears...the other one grabs her and zooms off to the next quilt shop or show!!!! Ragmop's PT Cruiser should suffice for a stagecoach. KJ

If you don't have Excel, you can download an Excel reader from Microsoft.

I have Lotus 1-2-3 and it handles Excel spreadsheets just fine; other spreadsheet software may also be able to handle it.
