Some try and succeed with customers who aren't (weren't) aware of it. Twice I was in a situation where my purchase was a dollar or so below the "minimum' and the cashier asked for a different method of payment. When I challenged the policy, my card was accepted with no further questions.

I haven't done business with this guy for about a year, and that is the way it was at that time. I think that click and ship is a new innovation since that time and maybe he uses it now. But, sometimes if you use a certain carrier exclusively, they give you a better rate, so that might be in play also. John

That is good to know. but certainly vendors skirt that rule all the time. I came upon it myself, once, this Christmas Season. I just went to another vendor and that was fine with me. I don't fault vendors for not wanting to work for nothing, either. So it is a double edged sword.
