Fabric district?

Question

A friend of my DT's is coming to the US in August and will be in California for part of her time here. She's been told not to miss the fabric district in Los Angeles, but she has no idea where that might be, and neither do I. Can anyone give me some directions to pass along to my DT's friend? I told my DT that this would be the best place to ask.

If she is interested in clothing construction she would want to do theLA thing.  M&L is great for quilting.   I've never done the garmentdistrict but lots of the folks here do treks down there occasionally.TariaPaul

I printed your response and will file it away for our next trip to LA(probably next January or February). I have visited many of the quiltstores listed in the Quilter's Travel Companion but have not venturedbeyond their listings. We fly with one bag each. I pack a duffle bagfolded in my luggage so I can bring home all the good bargains! Sometravelers buy silver spoons. I buy fabric.Susan

Thanks, Marcella! That's great! And concerning the Chinese restaurant, my DT wasn't in the area where they made food that we typically see as belonging to that "type" -- she was in the north, where the food was not as nice. I'm sure she'd appreciate knowing! :)

From my understanding there is stuff quilters can use but itis more in line with clothing construction and maybe more artsyquilts.  I think mostly it is just a fun thing to do if youlike any fabric.  Maybe I need to get down there and checkit out.  Hit Phillipes for lunch too.  Now that DH is retired I have a driver. : )TariaSandy wrote:
