final letter from Musicmaker

She has lost rctq contact, and asked me to post this for her. Karen, Queen of Squishies

Would you please let everyone on rtcq know that I have my final letter composed and printed out thanks to them. I'm giving a copy of this letter to the dealer, WITH the samples and the copies of the receipts, as well as a copy of the letter from the technician on the specific repairs she did, and to the President directly. THANK YOU for ALL of your help and advice. I couldn't possibly have done it without you.

Attention President: Mr. Steven J. Jeffery; 1760 Gilsinn Ln, Fenton, MO,

63026 (636) 349-2333?

I am returning to you, through the dealer in Arthur, for refund or replacement the Quest sewing machine I bought in November 2007. It has been into two different local dealerships and Babylock's technicians, but I have never been able to successfully finish even a small quilt on this machine. At this point, I'm requesting that you either give me a new machine that works, or a refund of $total for the machine and shipping for unsuccessful "fixes".

a.. In November 2007 my husband purchased this for my Christmas gift b.. December-March 2008, unpredictable difficulties, esp with quilting c.. May 2008, sent to dealer, Fabricsetc2 in Elmhurst IL for adjustment or repair d.. July, same problems continue; unresolved e.. August, took it to 2nd dealer, Stitch and Sew in Arthur IL. We set up

2 machines, my Quest and their Quilter's Choice, with identical threads tensions and needles. I was able to use the Choice, and unable to use the Quest. Sent it to the Babylock factory technicians. f.. September, I got the machine back promptly, the technician had "fixed it". The performance of the machine had improved when the feed dogs are engaged, but I am still unable to free motion quilt with it without broken threads and skipped stitches. I also contacted a Baby Lock educator, Kathy, 2 separate times without positive results.

Having fought with this machine for nearly a year, and doing everything every dealer, technician, and educator suggested, I ask you to replace the machine.

Thanks, Karen. I, too, have a Quest and bought it last November. So far I've only had one slight problem with it, and that was fixed immediately. I'm loving it! I hope Musicmaker gets a new, great machine....she's definitely dealt with enough grief with this one.

I hope Musicmaker gets some satisfaction from Babylock...it sure seems her machine was a 'lemon,' given the reports of other folks who have 'em and love 'em. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

I do wish someone would amend the title of this topic. "Final Letter" has such an ominous tone.

That disturbed me too, Joan. I was looking at an old QMN article and the quilts were titled 'first quilt' and 'last quilt'. I wondered why they didn't call the new ones 'most recent quilt'. Considering our various backgrounds, it's wonderful that we manage to communicate as well as we do. Polly

I'M BACK - google groups was up and running again when I checked in this morning! I can't believe how much I missed being able to log into rctq!

Left "the machine" at the local dealer yesterday with explanations etc etc. She's SURE that they'll replace it for me. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, going to hold my breath.

Oh dear. I took it as: This is it. I will 'brook no nonsense's any longer. I need resolution.

Thank you

Butterfly ( I sure hope this letter does what it should do. a full year of NO SM is gonna drive any quilter to to to....... with Ragmop being the exception)
