Finally Excited

Okay, store samples done. Peace Quilt BOM done. And now onward and upward!

For Christmas, I'm doing 'theme' gifts for the grandkids. Liem (a 2 year old girl) is getting an Olivia book, a stuffed Olivia and a quilt made with Olivia fabric. Talley (a 5 year old boy) is getting a dinosaur book, a stuffed dinosaur and I just started a T-Rex quilt in batiks!

Makes me smile!

Sounds like you're over the doldrums now, Joan!

I've never done a theme related set, Joan. It's crossed my mind many times to do a sock monkey quilt and find a sock monkey to go with it - or perhaps the Little Engine that Could book with a companion quilt. Sounds like fun. Polly

I just finished a Raggedy Ann/Andy set and quilt to go with. Had to special order the book. No one carries it. Anna Belle in Palm Bay

How precious. I remember well that those dolls had to go around naked here so their hearts would show. Polly

I thought it was interesting the clerk at Barns & Noble said they books don't sell probably because there is no TV program. Kids don't know who Rag Ann & Andy are--sort of sad.

Last year we did sock monkeys. My Mom made the monkeys and I did quilts, pillow cases and tote bags.

Given that my grandchildren truly NEED absolutely nothing, it seems to me that home made gifts such as these are the things that they might just remember after we're dead and gone.
