finish - paper pieced stockings

I finished a set of quilted christmas stockings tonight. No one who doesn't quilt would realize how much work went into these silly little things, but I'm happy if I learn how to do something new on every project, and this time it was how to design my own paper piecing patterns (simple ones - just the names). photo here:

I'm just thrilled that they all came out the same size.

Lynn, they're beautiful! Very wintry and cool. I love blue and I love that they're not the 'standard' Christmas colors. Great job!

You bet your boots it's not easy to make names come out the same size. I just helped a friend by cutting out simple balloon letters from white felt to put names on $s store red stockings and even that was tricky. Great job, Lynn. The stockings are wonderful. Polly

Thanks everyone! I love the fabrics too. I bought them as a pack at a quilt festival auction. The recipients have a white living room, so I thought the blue/silver would look pretty. I didn't mention that I meant to make them LAST Christmas, but better late than never. :)

Nicely done Lynn. Looks good! They did come out even, although I don't know why you thought they wouldn't! I like the fact that they are not traditional Christmas colours. Blue is not associated with that holiday. It is one of my favorite colour! Thanks for sharing
