FInished minor project

I told you all that I went to Phoenix for a machine quilting (feathers) class with Sue Nickels a couple of weeks ago. Progress on the quilt from that class was delayed because of the arrival of cutie-pie Bisou, but I've finally finished the binding on the little quilt. If I hadn't messed up its backing, I'd probably have done some cross-hatching or stippling behind the feathered motifs, but there was no point in doing that, given the puckered backing. ;) Oh well. I've put up pictures of the quilt, though, since the front looks okay: .

I love it, Sandy. It's too good for the dog, whatever the back is like! I enjoyed looking at your other quilts as well. My favourite is the pineapple mini-quilt.

That's really nice. :^) I once did a border with that design, all by hand. It took a long time.

Aw, for crying out loud, Sandy. If it's a wallhanging, what difference does it make if the back has a pleat? What would it matter if it had part of the sofa upholstery accidentally stitched in? Hang that beauty on the wall and enjoy it. You've done a wonderful feathering. We are SO proud of you. Polly

Wow, great job stitching over your previous lines! I'm jealous. :)

But, Kathy, you can't see the previous lines, so you don't know how many times I missed them!

Thanks, Marie. :) I've done lots of feathers by hand and some by machine before now. But this is the first time I've really been able to draw them. :)

ROFLOL! I love the way you put things, Polly. Thanks for the compliment

Thanks, Pat! :) I've said it before, but it bears repeating: I *love* feathers! Because of that, it's been important to me to be able to quilt them by hand and by machine, but it's been equally important to learn how to draft them myself. :)

Thanks, Mel! :) I may have to rethink my plan for this quilt, after all. (Shhhh, Bisou, don't cry -- I have another one you can have, if you don't get this one!)

The pineapple quilt is about 50" square, but it does look small in the photo.

You know that's not what I meant, Ms. Smarty-pants. :-P

Very nice. I hope one day I can machine quilt as well as that. I just got a Little Gracie II with a Juki machine and have started to get used to it. I've done some machine quilting on my Viking Designer

1 in the past but it has I've only progressed to decent - nothing to show to a real quilter. Good for you!

Don't sell yourself short -- we're *all* "real" quilters. :) The more you practice, the more you get tips and/or classes from other quilters, the more you will improve.

Thanks, Kathyl! :) BSR? What's that? ;) Of *course* I have the BSR! And Sue Nickels counseled anyone who had one and liked to use it to go ahead and *use* it, even during class. :)
