I don't plan ever to make another quilt with this technique. :S I loved the pattern, but I didn't like making it, and I detest what happens to it when it's washed! Here's the background: I took a class from Joan Shay (Petal Play person) at camp in 2006. She's a real kick -- lots of fun -- and her patterns are really pretty. It's just not my thing. We made a hummingbird quilt, where the flowers and leaves and every individual feather on the bird were all separately made and then sewn onto the quilt top. That was bad enough. But they all have to be sewn on *before* quilting, since the stitches have to go through to the back because of the thickness of the pieces. Anyway, I finally quilting this thing and finished binding and labeling it today. As usual, I threw it into the washer on a gentle cycle, and that's when things went from bad to worse. When I took it out of the dryer, all of the leaves and feathers and petals were all scrunched into wads and had to be individually pressed and re-curled. Yuck. Not my idea of fun. Oh well. At least it's done! I'm hoping one of my DDs wants it. I've posted it at , along with a link to Joan Shay's site. Her patterns really are pretty.

Thanks! It's beginning to grow on me, now that the washing fiasco is at least temporarily behind me.
