Fluttering success! :)

James caught the bus into town, spent an hour and some pocket money wandering about, phoned home for directions when he couldn't find the bus stop for getting back (it's nowhere near the drop-off point because of our demented one way system!), and arrived home safely. I shall be much more relaxed about tomorrow now, and so will he.

We did have a few minutes mad panic when I found my purse empty of anything resembling bus money for tomorrow, but by dint of sacrificing the locker pound coins we keep for swimming, I have dragged together enough for both he and I to visit town and get home tomorrow! :) He'll get the 8 am bus and be there in time for school, I'll follow on later with some stuff I'll have for the post. :)

And while I didn't do any actual quilting this afternoon, I did get to talk about it here on the group, and I will sew this evening. Right now I think I'll start dinner (lemony chicken pasta salad) and watch an episode of Buffy while I slurp a mug of tea...

Here you go! For two:

120g pasta spirals (fusili) cooked and cooled 1 medium chicken breast, poached (actually, I steamed it in the microwave) 1 small (200g) tub of fat free fromage frais 8 cherry tomatoes, halved zest of half a lemon, minced finely some rocket or other spiky lettuce

Mix everything together except the rocket. Add that in later! Rocket is quite bitter. A little can go a long way.

This worked out at five UK Weight watchers points per portion. It makes a very good lunch box meal.

Well the only sewing I got done yesterday was a couple of name tapes! ;) Never mind. James set off this morning quite cheerfully. I went out to see him on the bus, but probably won't bother from here on: he's quite grown up about it all. I can't wait to hear all about his first day when he gets back! meanwhile, I'm off to sew those dresses and take pix of them, and get a parcel ready for the post later. I may meet James for the bus at The Forum (a mini shopping mall in town) later this pm and we can natter on the bus.

Thanks Kate -- It's gone in my files....

I snipped all but the recipe as I changed the header (and hope I remembered the name of the dish correctly *snicker*)

Glad James is excited about school!

It was very yummy, but James wasn't keen on the rocket. :)
