for the Thread Stashers

I just threaded the loopers on the serger with Maxi-Lock thread. The label is clear plastic with a black band, a purple oval at the bottom and a bright pink circle at the top. Imagine my dismay when I saw that the label had faded onto the thread, even several layers deep. Just no telling when I may have bought the thread, could be 2 or 3 years ago - but the thread was carefully stored in a heavy box away from Mr. Sunshine and humidity. Was it treated unkindly before purchase? could be. Just now, I'm only hemming happy prints flannel receiving blankets so there's no harm done. Wouldn't it be just awful if I were doing an event such as a christening gown? Mercy. Polly

caveat for today, i'm in a bad mood, yes again, at some point in nearly every day i get like this. sorry folks...

did you email the Maxi-Lock folks about this? i've found often when something we paid good money for doesnt work as it should, a quick email to the company gets us a replacement or voucher for same. just received a voucher in the mail today for the toilet duck basket and refill that was brand new and kept popping off into the toilet. the first one must of gone thru the sewer system, no one saw it vanish. the refill we bought also popped off and as i was there when it happened i had to retreive it, ewww. no i'd not used the loo yet, had just sat down when i heard it pop into the water below. i replaced it carefully into the holder (lost half the liquid) and two days later it popped off again. lost the rest of the liquid that time. was getting costly to have a pee. so i emailed them this past week and the voucher arrived this morning. we've used this brand for yrs without probs so was reluctant to just switch brands without notifying Johnson Company. dont have to do this often but it pays in good customer relations. so.... j.

Did this just recently. Made Manwich and the guys complained it didn't taste right. (I don't do tomato so I had a plain burger. There was NOTHING wrong with the meat) I called the company. They asked for ID numbers and date purchased. They sent me a voucher for a new one with a nice "thank you for letting us know" letter. I did let her know that we used their product at least 2 x's a month. When I went to 'cash it', the clerk wanted to know if I had gotten the coupon off the internet. So I told her. She had never seen an open end coupon before (worth the going price of item). Never hurts to 'complain' or 'thank' the company.
