************************* ......a wonderful shop owner told us a story about a customer that always bought her fabric in fat quarters, sometimes several of the same fabric. The shop owner told her "you know you can buy this in yardage," to which the lady replied, " Oh no I can't! My husband thinks these are free samples!"

This excactly what my DH thought I had received from USA in the post last week! I did'nt enlighten him yet! lol

What a wonderful idea. I just tell him I bought it at the opportunity shop.

I buy a lot of cotton pillowcases from them and then mix in the new material.

That is very funny. Can I send this in for our newsletter to be published?

LOLOL! I've even fooled myself that way a couple of times, saying, "Well, FQs aren't really like buying yardage, they are more like samples."
