Getting Ready for the quilt show

Our local quilt show is May 23-25 in Kingston Ontario. I just took my load of donation items and consignment items to the boutique convener. She says that her basement is almost full! Wednesday night it quilt registration night, so I have my 6 entries labelled and in their bags waiting to be handed in. I volunteered DH to take pictures of all the quilts and produce a CD for sale at the show. Set-up day is on the 22nd, so we will help hang some quilts, then start the photography. (I received a call from the people who did the photography at the last show, and it took them 5 1/2 hours. We plan to have some labels printed, and have to return home, edit the photos and burn them to CDs. The show opens at 11 am on Friday, so we have to have some available then, but can replenish the stack as time goes on. They usually show the pictures on the website sometime after the show, but I'm going to recommend that they offer the CDs instead. Our last show lost money, so we are hoping for better things this time! Wish us luck

I like your idea of making a CD of pictures. We had our show last weekend so it's too late to suggest it but maybe next time..... Good luck with your show! Allison( I will be posting pics of our show in a few days)

Susan: Selling a CD of the exhibited quilts is a wonderful idea. Please give us a follow up post about this activity. We'll want to know if it was a big bother, or a piece of cake, and we will want to know about the popularity of the CD. I know I'd buy one at most shows, but especially my own guild show. Thanks and good luck!

Pat, our guild has produced a CD of all of the quilts for the past few years, and it's always very popular. We charge $10 for it and -- as Susan suggested she'd like to do -- we don't put photos on our web site. The people who have done the photography and production of the CD in the past haven't complained, so I guess it's not that awful, other than in terms of time.

Good luck Susan. The CD is a great idea.Hope it makes a good money spinner for you! We have our biannual exhibition starting on 29th May. I am sewing on sleeves like mad and making items for the sales table.Still not sure which challenge to enter. I did the rooster from the link you sent me!
