Cinco de Mayo

Howdy!

Taking a break in the day's quilting to wish y'all Feliz Cinco de Mayo, & to eat some "ultimate fajitas" which means beef, chicken, pork & shrimp, w/ guacamole and handmade tortillas. ;-P Rootling thru' the stash this weekend I came across the Fiesta fabric I got in Ft.Worth a couple of years ago. Must do something with that, soon; it's just so.. oddly cute. Meanwhile, newer inspiration for south of the border:

We don't celebrate cinco de mayo around here. DS turned 40 yesterday. Quatro de mayo has always been a priority for us. The cake was bavarian filled chocolate frosted vanilla. There seemed to be an endless supply of margaritas though. :)

We celebrate Cinco here in a big way. The only young one in our family turned 4 today. For lunch, I fixed '"Enchilada Piñata Manñana Piccata Mousse'. (just kidding about the mousse) Polly

No. Not mac and cheese. How's the wallpaper ordeal coming along? Polly

Ordeal is right. It's coming off a bit at a time. But it's taking less scraping by using the fabric softener and hot water. But still slow. I may have to look into a steamer. We'll see. I'm glad I didn't start this with some sort of immediate deadline. There is also a packed china cabinet to move at some point. Oh goodie. DH just walks by like I'm invisible. He doesn't get involved in projects that I start. Big dork!

Quatro de Mayo was wonderful here too! Mum baked me a Red Devil's Food cake with her splendiferous frosting, we went out to eat dinner and went to a play. Forgot tonight is Cinco de Mayo, so we are having Italian soup. Much more of a soup day here in Houston. And we do tacos and fajitas a lot anyway lol

Sandy, eat some shrimp for me? I sure miss being able to!

hmmm margaritas and Italian soup... bet i could make that work somehow
