PING Roberta in De

hi Roberta, you're way closer to the Netherlands than i am. i've not heard hide nor hair from Jessamy in two months now. she seems to have vanished. last word from her was on rctq about finishing a quilt/pattern for the magazine...Lena? also that she was getting ready to sell her patterns in the usa soon. this is great news for her, usa is the biggest market. maybe going to houston this year? i'm worried about her tho. she has not posted to any of her own yahoo groups in those two months. it is totally out of character for her. is there any news of her there in europe? i've searched the white pages and newspapers in NL looking for her but nothing comes up in either. i am lost as to what to do now. i'm no good at waiting. any ideas? i know there are other folks reading this. any of you got anymore ideas on finding Jess? hugz, jeanne

You're right, it has been a very long time. But I probably couldn't do more than you have to find her, short of taking a couple of days and traveling up there. Would take me probably about 10 hours on the train, longer to drive, and I don't have a couple of extra days right now.. I'll have a look in the latest Lena, although that's no indication. Quilts in each issue are turned in many weeks before publication. Roberta in D

goodness me, Roberta. i'd not expect you to drive up there, lol. just me in a panic thinking De as closer than i am so posted. i also wanted anyone else on rctq who might be in contact with her to let us know she was ok. Sally in the UK has sent her a squishy which should arrive in a couple of days. i'm sure she'll find a way to get in contact with someone then. i dont have her phone number but thanks anyhow. hugz, jeanne

yes that is the addy i used. i also tried the dutch phone directory online in helmond. iirc her dh's last name is ayad, tho he is her 'ex' so they dont live together. i've no idea if he is in helmond or some other nearby town and i dont know his first name either. there may well be more than one with his last name. not much help am i. sigh... you do seem to be the closest at 1.5 hrs drive away.

at this point probly best to see if she responds when the squishy from Sally arrives in a couple of days or so. unless you're heading up that way anyhow...not sure how you'd find her without a proper addy tho. i guess you could ask at all the LQS you're bound to check out as you pass thru, lol. someone in those is bound to know her with her posh english accent when speaking english and her two adorable boys. she is fluent in dutch so unsure what her accent is like then. also she is a quilt pattern designer and contributor, working in Hoffmans fabrics, to the Lena magazine the past couple of yrs now. other than that info i dont know how else to describe her to see if they know her or not.

Aw, c'mon, folks: give her some privacy. Now you've mentioned her home town, last name, ex's last name, ... why don't you take this to private email? Anyone who wants to help you contact a particular person-- email you for discussion & exchange of private info. sheeze-looweeze: don't need the guild or other directory to give away private info
