Ginger Rogers and me!

You remember. They say that Ginger Rogers could do everything Fred Astaire could do - backwards and wearing high heels. Well. I have been playing with Sally Terry's book Hooked on Feathers and find it delightful. I can do feathers. I can do feathers backwards. Didn't try it with high heels but I will if anyone wants to know how it goes. Big sloppy hugs to the rctq person who recommended her book. The only stumble I encountered was that she waited until page 34 to say "stitch the spine first". I wondered for 33 pages when the spine appeared on stage. What fun. If you want to try feathers, try her book. High heels are optional. Polly

If you ever have a chance to meet Sally in person, take it. She is a very entertaining woman. A bit of a free spirit and may make your brain explode, but it might be worth it :-)

Forget it, Doc. There is No Way you're ever going to find high heels in your size. Polka-dotted flip-flops? Maybe. Polly

Yes, please, Polly. ;) And pics of the attempt would be good, too.

Feeling as I do about feathers, I guess I'll have to see about getting her book to expand my repertoire. Thanks for the recommendation, Polly and whoever told you to do this!

I have that book too. It's a winner!!!! I need to break it open when I'm sitting at my machine instead of on the couch. I like how the feathers are organic rather than perfect. My kind of quilting. KJ < not wearing high heels...not now...not ever

Darling Polly, if Doc wants heels in his size I can easily direct him in the proper direction to aquire them. There will be questions! What kind of heels? With or without a front lift? Boots or shoes? Goth or, erm, exotic, would be easiest.

Yesssss. The book needs to be open beside the SM; having it by your reading area is just not enough. It's rather like your first ballet lesson. You must keep repeating: short arc, touch. Long arch, back. Or something like that until it sticks to your brain. The first feathered quilt has been finished and washed. Wowzer. It looks like I knew what I was doing. Polly

Oh, I have this book and just love it! So happy to hear that it is successful for you. I haven't dipped my toe in yet, but I like her style! You give me hope!
