Giveaway: Doll Clothing Sewers

Lace, pastel type fabric, a pattern book & some patterns. I used to sew for a "Toys for Tots" type charity, but I think I"m done for the year. I am sooo sick of looking at this stuff.

Your post brought to mind a book of patterns I had eons ago. Okay, maybe a few years back. Anyway, I'm sort of (well, maybe!) looking for a pattern book (softcover) of doll clothing. I remember there were fairies, and mystic types, lots of beautiful *complicated* items. Frankly, I'm not sure if there were patterns -- might have just been pictures.

It was square, or square-ish!, and about 9 x 10 or so. Maybe. Thin -- maybe 1/2 inch think.

Any clues? Just a title would be helpful. I'm sure if I see the cover I'll know.

And no, it's not a priority... more like a random thought of a "hmm, be nice to have that one again..." versus a pressing need.

J, in Pensacola, with just about finished Quilt for the Kidlet.

Hi, Janice, Grew up in Pensacola and still have family there--sure do miss it!! Hope to make it back there in about 3 years when we retire!! Sorry can't help you with the book title, though.

That sounds neat! But I don't think this is the book. It's a large softcover book, "Dolls' Clothes Pattern Book" by Roselyn Gadia- Smitley. There's a pic of a baby doll wearing a straw hat and blue checked dress w/pinafore on the front. Wish it was the one you're looking for!

Yes, Pensacola is amazing. I love the Navy Museum... haven't been in years but it's good to know it's there. I'm sure I'll run across the doll book at some point. Goodness knows I've got enough things around here to keep me busy for a while.

Of late I've been quilting. Need to get back to it RIGHT NOW, as I promised Kidlet it would be finished tomorrow. Er, since there's still ten feet of stitching (the two borders) it doesn't look great, but we shall see. Back to the needle and thread. One quilt (3x5') takes nearly one spool of quilting thread. I should run out (or close to it

-- can see the inside of the spool) when I'm finished. Kind of neat, how that worked out. All hand quilted -- she (the Kidlet) likes it.

I have been sewing on one button per chemo treatment, (so far, 150 doses) so it's getting there. Has lots of fabrics from when she and Son were young -- she's the "baby" and is nearly 24. Some of my stuff too -- lots of memories for certain.

Enough rambling. I've got quilting to do!

And thanks for the update Sherry -- one day I'll run across the book. As it's not here, there must have been a reason why not. Perhaps flipping through the pages will remind me. Once I find it!
