I was in a dot swap. Each person had to make 36 12 1/2" blocks with 3 circles (I forget the sizes, I think 9, 8 and 6, maybe not) I got a circle cutter from Olfa and first cut out the 12 1/2" blocks, then the 9" circle. I pinned it to the block then blanket stitched around the circle. (You could also zig zag if you didn't have a blanket stitch). I then cut out the back of the block, leaving a 1/4" or so seam. I added the other 2 circles in the same manner.

We mailed in our blocks to the group moderater who cut them all in 1/4's and sent us all back enough to make 36 blocks. It was surprising how many different dot fabrics there are.

I sewed the 1/4's together, added the black and voila!

I love it!! What crazy fun!! Took me a moment or two to realize that the fabrics were in theme too -it must have taken quite a bit of time to collect them all.
