Hi!

I'm new to this group and would like to e-mail anyone who owns an HQ16. I would like to know how to avoid tucks in the back of my quilts. After your quilt it loaded, how do you stabiliaze it? In what order do you quilt? Do you baste? How?

TIA Sa;;u

I had the same problem when I got my HQ16 a couple months ago. After talking to a longarm quilter friend and the HQ16 lists, I discovered that I was tightening my quilts too much. So, now I make sure that I can "grab" a finger" from underneath.

There are two HQ lists on Yahoo Groups that have been very helpful. HQ16 and HQ16Chatters. I've learned a lot of good stuff from them.

I can add another hint to stop the puckering on the back. Make sure you are not moving too fast with the HQ. If the needle is not moving fast enogh it can get caught in the fabric and cause a pucker. Do you have the Stitch Regulator?
