Happy dancing

I finally got around to quilting a top that I made a year or so ago -- a black and red Irish chain throw.

I also recently completed a quilt that has been in my head for a long time -- a Storm at Sea throw. I wish it were big enough to use on my bed, but I really couldn't see myself making three times as many blocks. All of the blue and some of the white came from my stash. I used the white-on-white scraps that I had, but had to buy more to finish it. The biggest challenge was figuring out a relatively easy way to cut the diamonds and keep them pretty much on grain. I used the large Tri-Recs triangle to get the angle right.

Photos of both quilts are toward the bottom of

They're both so nice, Julia! And congratulations on finishing something that had been hanging around that long -- sometimes those are the hardest to get back to.

I didn't see the original post (I don't think?); glad to see it here, though. The Storm at Sea is beautiful. I have a miniature SaS drawn out, ready to do - and all the fabric thought about! . In message , Donna in NE La. writes
