ps - Island, car availability, etc would help.

There is a great shop on Kauai (near the port -- Lihue).

There are several shops on the big island of Hawaii (haven't been to them -- but I looked... because I'm going in February!)

Hawaii even has a quilt guild -- you might contact them and ask for suggestions based upon when you'll be there and where all you'll be!!

Have fun... Be sure to let us know after you've been.... and what all you found "quilty" there!

In Honolulu, go to the Palace and see the quilt made by the Princess (Queen?); go to Mission House for missionary quilts, and check out the Bishop Museum for any special stuff they may have available. HTH. PAT

You can check out this place. It's about a $40 round-trip cab fare from the Cruise Line docks. It was a great place, though. The prices were unbelievably low, and the selection was great. I think most of their business is done online. The owner gave me a whole bag of Hawaiin buttons and a few extra inches here and there on the fabric for my taking the time to find him!

Guess I should have put in the link.
