Help needed Lone Star Quilt

Hi all,

A friend gave me 2 different size template rulers for this quilt but forgot how to use them. The templates are made from poster board and have an angle cut on each end with small holes that are also on the angle equally spaced apart. She made one of these quilts years ago and can not find any instructions on how to use the templates. Has anyone seen or have these and do you have instructions for there use? She claims it made this quilt simple to make and faster then cutting out each diamond. I would like to give it a whirl but I have no idea of how to use these. Any quidance would be appreciated.

Thanks Dorothy DeFuniak Springs, FL

Sorry, I strip piece mine. It is too tedious to cut out each piece and sew. The pieces get all wonky.

Yep I strip piece mine too. Much easier, much faster, and if you follow the directions carefully it is much more accurate too, given all the bias edges. Look for instructions on how to do that instead of using the templates. Sorry I don't have a link for you off hand. I only use my lone star 'rulers' when I need to fussy cut something.
