Hubby amazed me.

My hubby is NEVER interested in what I sew. To him "It is all money being spent" I have finally finished my first Foundation pieced "top" got to quilt it yet and I laid it out on the spare bed so I could just look at it to get some ideas on how to quilt. Last night when hubby came home from work he went past the spare bedroom, looked at me just standing there and said.....WOW ! that looks good.!! Knowing my hubby he wasn't refering to me....... I have finally got a nice comment on my quilting, decided that I actually like my hubby now !!! lolol N

The reason I took up quilting in the first place was because "HIS HOBBY "" took him away from the home so much. He has been an active member of our Surf Life Saving Club since 1963 and is there every weekend. I was involved in it when my kids were a lot younger but since they have grown up I have sort of lost interest, I used to go and just sit there, but then decided that I could be more productive at home. I have always sewn, clothing mainly but then enrolled in a quilting class and the world opened up for me !!!! Now I have 2 Embroidery machines, 1 Overlocker and a quilting machine which is permently on my Handy Quilter Frame which sits under my Pergola as it is too big to go inside the house ! All my family get quilts as presents, I have been asked to make quilts for others but it is a hobby for me and not a sorce of income so so far I have said no. I have quilts draped over my furniture, on the beds, and am even in the process of designing one for the back of the toilet door, (saves me re-painting) lolol My oldest son thinks it is great for me to have a hobby but even he can't sway my hubby ! Oh well ! I married him for better or worse, I have many faults as well so I can't really complain can I ? N
