I forgot to post a link to my newest finished project!

My sewing buddy, Betty, saw the picture of this boxer and really loved it, so as a surprise for her, I decided to turn it into the front side of a sling/tote. When I first printed it out, over a year ago, I wasn't very thrilled with how faded and blah the colors were and knew that I had to thread paint, but was so unsure of myself that it sat in the UFO pile all 2009. Got it out this year after getting a little thread painting exp under my belt, and voila! That doggy face is just popping out of the purse front and I'm thrilled with the results.

I forgot to add that the pics are on page 1 of my quilts and since the photos are listed alphabetically - just look for Betty's Bag.

Simply splendid, MM. I really like it. It is extremely realistic - through the hole in the fence is what makes it seem so real. Clever you, it is terrific. So glad you finished it, it was a hidden gem in the UFO pile! . In message , Musicmaker writes

How delightful. How wonderful. Makes me wonder what the rest of us could create if we thought about it for a year. Thread-painting was just the touch. Wow. Polly

That is so cute! Betty is going to love it. After she starts carrying it and people see it, you may have a new career in the tote-making business!

That's so cute! While I was there, I looked at your quilts -- I was curious about the one called "betty n me" -- the one that looks like a log-cabin-ish star. That's really striking. Do you know if there's a pattern/book around for that? I'm perusing patterns and in the fondling-fabric stage for my very first batik quilt. I think that one would be awesome.

SHERRY - I apologize for not getting back sooner! There is a pattern for this quilt. I got the pattern from the issue no. 84 of Traditional Quiltworks magazine, March 2003. I put it into EQ5 to get the size I wanted and still have the magazine and EQ printouts. Do you want them? Musicmaker
