I Spy

Guess what I did today? Got out the cut 5" I Spy Squares and found I need to 'do' a few more. Tomorrow is 'foot Dr' day so I will ask if I can 'stand' for bits of time now so I can cut a few more. It felt soooooooooooooooooo good fondling and choosing and fondling and..

Oooh, doesn't it feel good? I did that last weekend, and got re-inspired to finish a UFO.

Nothing personal, Miss B'fly but it IS possible for old dogs to learn new tricks. You can learn to cut sitting down; probably could learn lying down but I don't recommend it. I thought I'd never convince my neighbor that ironing sitting down is legal but when faced with a bazillion HSTs she finally gave it a try. Polly

No bike yet...not even the stationary one.still have the pesky spot of the pressure wound to finish healing........but I'm mentally ready to 'start doing' once again..

Didn't get to 'do' today but I should be able to fondle more in the AM

Have ironed sitting down. Now you have my curiosity up for the 'cutting whilst sitting'. What 'height' should the 'tale/cutting surface' be? Bent elbow height--higher/lower

Sit on a higher chair (kinda above) about the normal height for the cutting table? I have a 'multi-level chair' that I sit on when I'm 'cooking'. Mr Joe does the fetch/carry for me.......I sit on the 'lectric' scooter and hand him the clean dishes from the dishwasher as the lowest level is a bit much for him to do. Would he need to 'help' with this set up for cutting? We have great team work and he'd be willing to help as he is quite pleased to see me 'using fabric' once agian : )

I have sometimes adjusted the ironing board height to cut scraps into pieces for a quilt or for other sewing projects, while I sit in my sewing chair. The trick is to have the scraps so that I can pick them up off a table nearby. So they need to already be ironed and ready to cut. Then I just roll my chair from one table to another. Barbara in SC

What did Davy Crockett step in? . . . a bar stool. (Sorry. That just flashed into my mind.) I sit on a bar stool at my cutting table with my feet resting on the top of the scraps bin. Or you might be more at ease with the ironing board lowered so you can use your favorite chair as Bobbie suggests. Try this and that and see what is kindest to your eyes, neck, elbows, back and front. Polly

Thanks to all 3 of you. Now I have a good idea of how and where to start. both the Kitchen and Seing room chairs are on wheels so I shall be able to sit and cut.
