Announcement: I-Spy Charm Swap

Hi everyone, Since I posted this a bit buried in an earlier thread, I am reposting my announcement of a 4 inch square I-spy swap. We have a fun group already signed up, and there is plenty of room for more, so just email me if you are interested!

I-SPY SWAP

Let's swap 4 inch squares of prewashed 100% cotton quilting-quality fabric. These will be novelty squares - juvenile, fun, animals, bugs, food, cartoon characters, recognizable objects... use your imagination.

You may swap as many sets of fabric as you'd like (within reason) -- each set should consist of 20 squares of fabric, with 2 of every square (so, 10 designs x 2 of each = 20). This will allow people who want to make their I-Spy quilt into a "match game" quilt to do so. If you'd like to swap multiple sets, the sets can be identical to each other, but please use 10 different fabrics in each set.

Deadline: sign up by EMAIL to l_marsellaATyahoo.com (replace AT with @) by September 18 - please tell me how many sets you think you'll be sending. Mail the squares to me so that I recieve them by October 5, and I'll mail them out by October 11 (to allow for stragglers). (I'm in the directory, and I'll provide my address by email).

Email me if you're an international shipper and want to participate. (All are welcome!)

Please enclose a self addressed envelope with your squares. You can enclose a stamp for a postage contribution or just add a little piece of fabric to reimburse me and I'll handle postage back to people.

Hi Lynn,

What is a charm? I've seen this written here before and I've no clue.

Hi Mary ann, A "charm" is just a small piece of fabric. A charm quilt is made up of many many different "charms," each one different (or sometimes one repeated charm, as a bit of a game). The 'thousand pyramids' quilt is an example of a popular charm quilt pattern. People often collect "charm squares" to make quilts in which every single square is different. I am using the term liberally here, because I'm actually putting two of every square in my I-spy quilt.
