I'VE BEEN SQUISHED!!! (Long, but please read)

Sep 19, 2005 7 Replies

It is my first. What a thrill and what a wonderful thing. I have privately e-mailed the "squisher" to thank her so much. I really do have a heavy heart since this Saturday I am sponsoring a final memorial for my son in his "home" church. I still can't believe that he is gone, but I guess I'm going to have to accept it sooner or later. My daughter-in-law and granddaughter and grandson, in Anaheim, CA, had a small memorial for him out there to which all of the immediate family from here attended, but all of the rest of the family that knew and love him, is here in Indiana or the nearby Chicago area. Hence, the planned memorial here in Indiana. Everyone, hold your children close and your grandchildren, since you never know when you might lose one of them quite unexpectedly. My son loved the wonders of the desert, and yet it "devoured" him. How sad. Guess I'm getting a little morbid and had better get myself moving. Sorry to burden any of you with my sorrow. You are all a wonderful bunch of gals and I am so happy that I have come upon this group. Also can't thank you all enough for the "hug" that you gave me, even thanks to those who, for one reason or another, were not able to contribute. I know how life can get in the way of joining in. All of your hearts are in the right place for even being willing to contribute whenever you can. I just can't thank you all enough - those who have sent personal prayers, cards, e-mails, and prayers expressed on the NG, those who have set up special webpages about my son when he was missing. There is no way I can thank any of you enough. But I will most certainly hold dear to me the "hug" with which you blessed me. May God bless all of you in return. Marlys in Indiana

Marlys, there is no way that anyone would consider you as being morbid when you talk about your beloved son. You can feel free to talk about him any time with us. You're a mom who lost a child. How can anything be "normal" after that.

If you don't feel comfortable talking on here, you can feel free to email me. I am also emailing this message to you so you will have my "home" email. I can't pretend to know what you are going through, but please know I am more than willing to listen. As are most of us here, I think.

Bless you and congrats on the squishy. Lots comfort in those little bits of woven stuff, huh?

Cindy

I got squished today as well. Great feeling isn't it. :-)

Don't ever feel morbid or sorry about writing a message about the love you had for your son. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child.

I don't have words.. don't know what to say.. just feel you should never have to apologize for talking about your son.. enjoy your squishy , hope it will give you some comfort..

Posting on my own post, and just realizing that I have become a sexist in this post. I must include all the men that are part of this group also. I really need to apologize for that. So I must refer to this group as all of you "gals and guys". Thanks to all of you, yet, again. God bless all. Marlys in Indiana

Marlys, Huge hugs to you continually. I don't know if I contributed to your hug in particular, because as you say, life can sometimes get in the way on a particular hug. But I like to think that with every block I do manage to contribute that I'm hugging all those for whom hugs have been made. And I'm certainly hugging you in my heart, as I know we all are. May you find some peace. May you feel the love that everyone here is sending your way. Continued prayers, allyson

And may He bless you, too, Marlys, and give you the strength to get through the memorial service and every day after that.

Marlys, you can't imagine how many times I thought about you this past week couple of months. Prayers for strength for you and your family still coming.
