I've settled & fondling again

Well, I have made the move from Idaho to Casper, WY. So far I really like the city. Of course, miss my friends just awful.

Got a wonderful squishy from Betsy Ross in the form of a live and blooming squishy!! Betsy is a warm and wonderful person and has been thanked and is being thanked again!!!!!

I was awfully embarrassed as I watched the movers bring box after box after box off the moving truck marked fabric. Then later that day, the trucker (a nice, wise old man) would take any empty boxes we could empty out quickly (so we didn't have to deal with boxes and boxes), so my husband and I made a mad dash to empty and empty. My fabric came out smushy and I thought I might have to iron everything again. But later as I put it away (still doing that, actually), it doesn't really need ironing.

But, the real kicker, was that I had purchased or gathered fabric together with a pattern for different people that I was "eventually" going to make quilts for. Well, the movers took care of that. Luckily, some time ago, I had made a list of the projects and as I was putting away and fondling my fabric, I could find the specific stashes for the quilts for the right people and the patterns.

I haven't quilted in about seven months now, and my stuff is in an unfinished basement on the concrete with only a few plugs for the whole basement, so I will have to use heavy duty extension cords, but I am near a big window (can't see anything out of it, but good light), and am starting to get the bug!!

Let's hope the bug stays with me long enough for me to start sewing - at least I have to repair my husband's jeans!!!!!

Going to the College National Rodeo tonight - I am a true Wyomingon (what are we called - I wonder????)

TerriLee, thanks so much for sharing your pictures. They were great. I was very interested in the wall hanging you did for your husband. Did you do the letters or do you find fabric like that?

Is seems your QI likes the jeans quilts either way you make them!!

Also, couldn't help noticing the wonderful glass of wine behind the finished husband's wall hanging, must have been a celebration!!

Thanks again, I will try to keep the fire burning. Haven't been down there to fondle and put away lately, but did go to a quilt show yesterday. Lots to look at and lots of ideas.

Thank you. The WUH for DH is 3 printed blocks with the Kanji letters. I just put borders around them and quilted around the letters. I should go take a pic of it now that he's hung it up in the pool table room. And the wine? I actually went to look at that pic, to see when it was taken. No special celebration, just my normal evening libation, I think. The body holding the WUH is my DIL, Steph. At that time she, my son, and DGD Rowena (the one in the QI pic) were living here with me. Yep, QIs are all over the denims, but I sure don't know why. I am actually finishing the quilting on the non-raggy one this week (interlocking diamonds w/ hearts in the corners), (2 years later), but when I'm working on tying the raggy one, I'm always moving that orange furry out of the way. I actually have a new feline QI, about 12 wks old, who is just a hoot. She hasn't learned that the SR is a cat-free zone, and is *always* trying to get in here. Good job getting to a show, and keep at the fondle/put away tasks. I love rootling through to find "just what I'm looking for".
