Inklingo news......

For those of you who might have been somewhat interested in Inklingo (printing cutting and stitching lines for quilt shapes on the back of your fabric with an ordinary ink jet printer) there is great news. Linda Franz has done a lot of work and has some new collections available, in a new format. They are downloadable and will also work with Macs. One of the new collections is available free so you can check out Inklingo yourself. There is also a new book, "The Inklingo Handbook", and the first chapter is included (low resolution, but there) with the free collection so you can get started right away. BTW, the free collection is for 4 1/2", finished size, LeMoyne Stars and such. Lots of suggestions and neat project included. Check it out at lindafranz.com. You can see for yourself why I am sold on this product.

I own the first version, but I've never used it. I know it is fabulous because a lot of friends have it. I really need to try it.

Thanks for the information, Pati. I was really excited to see this, as I wanted to give it a try and have a Mac; before now it hasn't been possible to use Inklingo on a Mac. I downloaded the free file and opened it in Adobe Reader 9.0, but it simply won't accept my email addy and password so that I can see more than the sign-in page. :( I'm disappointed, but I've lived this long without Inklingo, so I guess I'll continue to do so. ;)

Sandy, please, please, please e-mail Linda directly about the problems you are having. That is the only way she knows about them and can work on a fix. She just wrote the e-mail list that a very few people are having a similar problem and she has been/is working to find the answer. She is very much interested in finding and fixing any problems that anyone has.

Pati, I'd already written her before I mentioned it to you. She told me that some others were having trouble with Adobe Reader 9 and this Inklingo file (I don't know about others), but that AR 8 seems to work. I've now downloaded that, and everything is fine, but I think she's going to see if there's a fix. After all, version 8 won't always be available, I'm sure.

I know Linda is terribly responsive, since she always has been for the Quilted Diamonds books, too. :)

Great. I just downloaded the free collection and am thinking about another new project. But need to finish class samples first. And have been asked to do both a "traditional" Double Wedding Ring class, and one using the Quiltsmart fusible stuff. sigh. Well, I have always wanted to do a DWR, but think if I am going to do 2 of them they will be small ones.
