I found that using only 2 colours was a difficult choice to make butI did want to make a Winding Roads quilt top using these two fabrics.I'm in the process of cutting more scrappy pieces to save for anotherquilt top - one day...Next, I decided to make more Yellow Brick Road blocks and I finallyfinished putting together the quilt top that has lain dormant for acouple of years. My third quilt top evolved after I pulled all (or almost all) of my floral fabrics and decided to make a 'garden quilt' - it is still a WIP on the design wall and it grows day by day. After a year of non-quilty sewing, I'm pleased that I have completed the work involved on these new items. Somehow, I always stop when it comes to deciding/cutting/sewing any border treatments.......jennellh

Very nice! I have quite a few florals, and you've given me an idea for using them up. I'd try a bright blue for your first border on that one or maybe a yellow/gold. Maybe one of the greens you used as a narrow strip with the florals would work. Boy, I'm a lot of help, aren't I?

I really like the Winding Roads top - of course, the fact that I love purple might be a factor. My first thought for a border color would be the gold color in the floral fabric, but it might be kind of cool to see that coral or rose color (not sure which it is).

Let us know what you decide! Now that you've shown them to us, you have to commit to getting those borders on, you know.

Hi Louise, I'm thinking that a narrow dark green strip to 'enclose' the garden and maybe some sort of picket fence outside? The original

Winding ways is such a pretty pattern... is it hard to do?

I love the purple! But you better keep it away from Polly!

Linda Franz has recently released Winding Ways as an Inklingo download. It is available in 3 different sizes (individually or save when buying all at one time. )

click on the Inklingo button, then find Winding Ways. With Inklingo you print your cutting and stitching lines on the back of your fabric and can get excellent results. (NAYY but love Inklingo as a tool.)

Have fun, Pati, > Winding ways is such a pretty pattern... is it hard to do?
