new photos

I have added photos of the scrappy blue quilt as 'modelled' on the bed where it will live when it is finished. The borders can be a maximum of 6inches for a completed size of 100"x100". I have also uploaded photos of 2 quickie quilts that I have worked on over the weekend - the sporty kids baby quilt is now waiting for quilting and has a flannelette backing (I have my doubts that I will ever want to make another flannel-backed quilt - any size!). The Spiderman kid's quilt is intended for a 6year old's birthday gift in a couple of weeks - I understand that the 'Reptile Man' has been booked to bring along a crocodile and other unworldly creatures from his menagerie. I doubt that I will be willing to walk in the grass during this particular event - and I hope that it doesn't rain either! The new photo additions are uploaded to the Ufo's & wips album. jennellh (@gmail.com)

Hi Jennellh, Just had a look. I love scrappy quilts. the more fabric the better. Your pineapple quilt is gorgeous. You do some nice work. Loved the hanging in your church!! Wow!!! Also rather liked your sewing room..... Was the disruption in your living room a result of your reorganizing your sewing room? :) My sewing room is in my living room as is the computer area so it quite often looks like your disrupted one. lol Thank you for sharing.. Those children's quilts are such fun! I think I'd be scared of the Spiderman quilt, but children are much more resilient to such things!! Your scrappy work is gorgeous: the pineapple, of course, but I also loved the Margaret Miller design.

Thank you Patti - I was thinking almost the same thing about the spiderman - it's the eyes! - but this child is nuts for all things creepy at the moment - as I said "the reptile man" is bringing part of his menagerie to the early part of the birthday party. I believe that there is a crocodile coming plus all manner of snakes, lizards, spiders. and other assorted unmentionables. jennellh

Thank you Sandy - blue has always been the joint colour choice of my sister and bro/law during all their years of married life. She did break away when the bedroom walls were painted a pale green aqua - which actually is also a colour that has appeared in the quilt - I didn't realize that the shade was there until I was the quilt in their bedroom. jennellh

The sports fabric line also included a 'girl' team stripe and was quite popular a few years ago. I have had it on my shelf for some time waiting for an idea. jennellh

Hi Elly, thank you for all your comments. I have to admit that the 'room disruption' photo was only mildly worse than the general daily view (even after sorting out the new shelving additions in my sewing room. I am sending the sofa bed off to the SallyAnne shop to make more space for my cutting table in front of the design wall - again, this is my living room. Don't even ask to see my bedroom these days! jennellh

Your house sounds pretty much like mine! :) My small living room houses our telly area/sitting area; our computer area and all the clutter it produces and my sewing area and we all know what mess accumulates there! Worse still. At some point in the near future we'll have to empty this room to have new flooring put down...Elly
