It's here...

The mailman brought a package from Connecting Threads today -- I have my "Hooked on Feathers" book -- can't wait to look at it.

I hope to be able to try some feathers on a quilt tomorrow. I've quilted in the ditch between the blocks and around the borders. I sewed the binding to the top today. Tomorrow I want to finish the binding (I'll stitch it down by machine) and do some feathers in the border. I have to do some more quilting in the blocks, but they're all stabilized now, so I think I'll do the border first.

I got the binding done and did the feathers in the border. The hooked feathers worked well. Of course, I was using black thread on a black-with-narrow-red-stripes fabric, so they don't really show very much on the front. But look pretty good from the back. It actually went quite fast.

There are lots of idea in the book to make fancier feathers -- with curls and hooks and loops. Lots of stuff that I may never try, but who know?

Julia, I *love* feathers (in case you'd forgotten ). Do you have pics to share?

Not yet. The quilt's not done yet. When I get it done, I'll try to get some pics up.
