Thank you, Leslie, but I try hard to keep the creative urges stifled somewhat. I would like to make at least one crib quilt per week. This Duckie quilt wants to take over all of my sewing time. Down, duckies, down. Sit. Stay. Maybe even "Git!". Polly

Your creativity is amazing and I really get a kick out of how your mind travels along these winding paths- with such wonderful, playful results. Yay for Polly and the lucky little one who gets a gift of ducklings!

Leslie & The Furbabies > I decided to make a crib quilt that was simply 9 baby duck blocks.

And how about a Momma ducky to care for them?

And reeds to play hide-and-seek in?

and . . . . . . .

I can just hear them now over at the shelter asking what happened to quilts from Polly. Someone will mutter, "I don't know but I heard she's gone to the ducks." Polly

And if you have a bathtub then you need one with an umbrella and galoshes. And one stomping in the mud puddles, splashing everyone. And one riding a tricycle. And so on And so on...............

G> IMO they need some duck food too-a few water snails and some duckweed! Maybe

At last I will be able to see Polly's beautiful creations. I'm in love with those ducks and I haven't even seen them yet. I have a 3 yard or is it 2 of sweet duck fabric with floaties that I am positive would look absolutelly stunning with those square as a backing. I love ducks! Any chance you don't want those squares anymore? batting my ducky eyelashes.

The blocks were almost yours tonight, Carole. I was auditioning sashing and a border. Orange or yellow was the plan but they didn't work. Neighbor comes through and tries bright blue and sparkling Michael Miller fairy frost in turquoise. That's dramatic but I don't want to make 'Macbeth'. This is a crib quilt. I thought maybe a sweet calico would be the one. Nope. It just faded away to insipididity. And finally, ah yes, finally. I pulled out a yellow with turquoise bubbles on it. The print is happy but stands aside and lets my ducks attract the attention they deserve. This is ridiculous. . . and fun. Polly

I does sound stunning! I think I know that bubble fabric, I may even have some in my stash. I'm using a dark blue for a quilt I am making called Alex's pond. I'm hoping to be finished with school in a few weeks - then I'll be able to quilt and start leading a normal life. Is this ducky quilt one of your precious donations?
