Just home from the meet-up and quilt show

Had a great visit and tour of the quilt show with Anna Belle and her husband. I have posted two pictures, one of Anna Belle and me and one of her quilts, and the other of her other entry. They were beautiful, as were all the quilts in the show.

The weather was wretched! Torrential rain for half of our drive on Thursday, flooded streets and parking lots, driving less than 30 mph on the Interstate! Light rain all day today - heavy at times driving home too! Some areas got 6 inches of rain. Still worth the drive for a lovely quilt show and visit!

Glad you got home safe & sound in spite of the weather. We had almost

4 inches at home and that didn't make parking lots a lot of fun.

Really enjoyed meeting Susan & DH (Brad). We had a good tour of the show and lots of chatter to go with it. I think the show was a wee bit smaller than last, but still pretty well filled the auditorium.

Since I forgot my camera (duh) glad Brad was on hand to snap us.

Thanks for coming and what a great treat. Anna Belle-drying out a little today and back to work my hours at the show.

Anna Belle: Both of those quilts are delightful! I have a huge pile of little logs (about 2" by 3") that I need to set together for a challenge. Your Jelly quilt gives me some food for thought. (Pun unintended!) Susan: Thanks for posting the photos of the quilts and of you and AB. It is fun to have a face to go with the name.

I so agree, Pat. Anna Belle - those are super quilts. Loved them both.

Beautiful quilts, Anna Belle! I want to make that Dark Shadows quilt. Did you have a pattern or did you make up your own?

Thanks everyone. The Jelly quilt was fun. I had picked up a roll rick rack at a flea market. The only quilting except the borders is on the rick rack. Did not have a pattern for this one, just saw a similar one and when home and made notes before I forgot. Everyone seems to like it and I though it fit the fabric style well. Fun to make and you can do a lot of stripping.

The Dark Shadows was a commercial pattern. What doesn't show is the quilting good friend of mine put in it. The dark shadow pieces have the little circles quilted. Fabric is dark navy and she used a lighter blue thread. Asian pieces have a stalk of bamboo in them. Name of the pattern is: "Shadowbox" by Mountainpeek Creations, Centennial, Co 888-768-5922. Easy pattern and goes together quickly. Show ended today and boy was it crowded. People complained about parking so far away. No rain today.
