St. Cloud MN Annual Quilting Show

I am still reeling from the outstanding workmanship put in to the A-one quilts shown in the ballroom in the adjoining hotel. The non-judged quilts in the regular showrooms with the ventors were good also. It would seem that most of them were machine quilted. Most of the exceptions to this were in the Ballroom showing. Nevertheless the top most awards in general were given to machine quilted one. The piecings of all looked very professional and though I had made many of the patterns show, I could never have gotten any of them that perfect. And, of course I was not showing any of MY quilts. But most of them are at my new website.

Ihave to apologize for the books I've written are also on that site, but it's easy enough to go to the Quilts by clicking on the quiltdivision on the right of the opening page. The motor trip was extremely tiring, and I wish I had been driving as I would have stopped more often. So just one more quilt show to come this year and that is the Annual Indian Summer Show of our guild in Fargo late in September.

O.K. No Interest in the MN Quilter's Show? The place was over run with people, surely at least one of you attended.

The Quilters' Guild of North Dakota is September 23-26th, any interest in that show?

Rhoda - no, I didn't drive north for the Minnesota show. Someone on another group posted pictures, though, so I did get a bit of a virtual tour, and it looks like they had some beautiful quilts on display.

I doubt we'll be in N.D. in September of this year, but is it an annual show? That's one of the states on my "want to visit" list, and I could probably convince DH that September was a good time to visit!

Nope -- didn't get there. I had no real desire to spend 10 hours on a bus (5 hours each way) to spend a few hours at the show. I sometimes go if it's in St. Paul -- less than 2 hours each way -- but really love it it when it's in Rochester. Then it's close enough for me to walk and I can spend a few hours there every day of the show. As far as I'm concerned, that's the ideal way to see a show like this.

Did you get a chance to meet Susan Cleveland, this year's quilter of the year? She's a member of my guild and a really fun gal. Another friend from my guild got a couple ribbons. There were probably others from our guild who also had ribbons -- there usually are.
