They do actually hop around in the paddocks down the road, and they eat my friend's garden just out of town (I live in the country!)

I helped raise an orphaned joey (baby) years ago. His Mum had been hit by a car. We had him for about 2 months till he was old enough to send off to a sanctuary. Small they're cute. Big, they're awsome, and a bit scary. The big males that used to come down to the car park at my office building in Canberra were a definite hazard, and we only went out in groups at night. They don't attack, but can hurt you if they are startled. One guy had his arm broken by a kick with those strong hind legs. .

When I was a child of about 10, I had a penpal in England. I was living in Arizona at the time, and he asked me if I rode my horse to school and if the Indians were dangerous. LOL!

Cheryl, You mentioned Canberra & I have to ask - do you know if Maggie Shepherd still has her headquarters there & is still in business? My mom, sister & I just fell in love with her designs & my sister & mother bought a ton of stuff - I was overwhelmed & couldn't make a decision. This was before I started quilting - how ironic that many of her designs look like a patchwork quilt.

No on both counts then? ;) My sister once told my nephew (age 9 at the time) that sure, he could go visit Scotland, but that all the little boys wear skirts there.

Think she moved off-shore quite a few years ago, but don't quote me

I loved her stuff too and even made a couple of evening jackets in that style years ago

Reminds me of when I was in high school. Track meet official is asking our names to check against the roster, came to a teammate. "Marcia Eitell." "What do you mean why should you tell? I need your name!"

Kia Ora,

Wow, coming to the party late here ...

Know I am grinning all the time I write this:

I don't say "sex" for 6. There are no sheep in my garden. I am not a flightless bird. Neither am I a brown furry fruit. I am not in awe of self-appointed "big sibling" across the ditch Some of my best friends/closest relations are Australian

Don't ask me who I want to win the last Ashes Test, now, will you (large grin).

That might be the last laugh, in fact.
