Another tribute to Les Paul is that the young whippersnappers who know *nothing* about his music or famous performances/recordings with Mary Ford, all are *very* familiar with at least his name -- a Les Paul guitar is something *all* garage band fanatics covet owning to this day. I cannot quilt without music. It's impossible for me. Like somebody said, can't remember who or the exact quote -- but music and cats *are*, to me, the best refuge from the miseries of life. :-)

Beyond that, they're very familiar with his work----even if they aren't aware that they are (although there are an awful lot of guitarists you'd think were far too young to know his work who do.....). And that's not his guitar playing bits, but his innovations in recording, in multitracking.....

Somewhere in heaven, there's a front porch.

And on that front porch, the Merles (Travis and Watson) and Chet, among others, are scooting over to make space for Les and his axe.....

I'd love to know the iTunes channel for *that* one.
