Fairfield batting

Have any of you used the Fairfield Poly-Down 80% cotton/20% poly batting? The local Hancock Fabrics no longer carries the Hobbs, so this was on sale a while back, so I bought one. I just opened it and it feels dreamy soft. I've used the Fairfield Poly-Down polyester batting and liked it, so figured this might be okay. I can still get the Hobbs at Hobby Lobby, but if this quilts nicely and washes well, I may have found a new favorite.

I just used it in a lap quilt...the person who quilted it said it quilted just fine. It is much softer than an 80/20 quilt. Haven't washed it though so can't tell you that.

Make a test sample using this batting and the fabrics you will use and wash it as you will the quilt. Let us know the results! Mickie

My current favorite is Mountain Mist Gold - a 50 / 50 blend. I know, I know. Such a notion is absolute blasphemy to many of you but it surely does make a light, soft baby quilt. I love the stuff! Polly
