Trixie Love the leaves idea. Thanks. I was thinking of doing 4" strips up and down or corner to corner. I still don't know. Jane

I agree. A fall quilt for a fall wedding. Was also thinking that a red/white/blue would be great for a July wedding. (Not necessarily "patriotic" themed, just those colors.)

Pati, > Wouldn't a "fall leaves" colored quilt be grand for the October wedding!!

Kate: That is what I did for DN who married in 1990. Those were stripe patch with plain red backs. Since then, I've made her FIVE children stockings, too. The children's stockings are more crazy patch, with matching print fabric on back. After three stockings I ran out of that print. So child # four, a new millennium baby, got a pieced back with a scrap of the signature print, and a large piece of 2000 fabric. That was fine. When child #5 came along, I was stumped but niece said, 'Oh, just use some fabric for the year 2004!' I had to explain that the year print was a special deal, not repeated every year! Anyhow, soon after that I was in Wal-Mart, and I saw someone buying yardage of 'my signature print' .... I quickly bought more than a yard. I used some for the fifth and last child, and have some left for any Christmas craft that comes along. The moral of ;my story is to NOT have a 'signature fabric' for such a project. Go with either a solid red or with varied print. Have fun!
