Needed prayers!

Hi, I have read many post requesting good thoughts and prayers and decided to ask my quilting buddies to remember us.

We just got word that my DH may have a bone marrow disease. To make a long story short...he is paralyzed from the armpits down and suffers from tracheo bronchial malaysia (collapsing airways) and is also a brittle diabetic (long time insulin dependent.) His DM passed away from Multiple Maloma...a bone marrow disease...the summer of 2005 while he was in a coma recovering from extensive surgery to attempt to repair/rebuild his airway. I don't mind sharing our story, but don't want to bore anyone either. His body is already compromised and we are praying for the best outcome. His oncology appt is the 23rd.

I was hesitant about sharing...as I'm not asking for pity, because we have a great life and a great love for one another.

Thank you all very much, Launie, in Oregon

Very sorry to hear this Launie. It will seem a long week for you. You both, obviously, have great spirit, and that will help you face whatever it is they 'hit you with this time'. Will most certainly remember you, hoping for some optimistic news - or strength, if bad. . In message , simpleseven writes

Lots of prayers on their way. My dear father battled multiple myeloma as well... I know there are new treatments every day for battling cancers. I'll pray that he is quickly diagnosed... and treatments are quick and successful.

Stay strong.... you have lots of people standing around you giving your support.

Don't be hesitant. This group is wonderful support. I've leaned on them several times for things much less serious than your situation. I wish you the strength and the best outcome possible for your DH. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Laurie, In 2000 I lost my dad to Multiple Myeloma. They should do a bone scan as well as a bone marrow test on your DH. I hear the bone marrow test is painful but it's quick. My dad just started getting very thin and he became brittle. He fell sown and got compound fractures. it was then my hero, my dad lost his fight. He ended up in a nursing home and he hated it. My dad worked around lots of paints and glues as well as shellacs. The doctor said that's what could of caused his cancer. I am here if you need to vent. Pami
